Egbe Omo Yoruba Europe
FOUNDATION
The association "Egbe Omo Yoruba Europe (EOYE)" was founded in Zurich – Switzerland, on Saturday, 30 November 2002. The association and its name came into realization at the launching of Obafemi Awolowo Research Library, organised by Egbe Omo Oduduwa Switzerland. Representatives Member of various Yoruba associations in Europe (Switzerland, United Kingdom, Greece, Austria, Belgium, France etc) present at this occasion, realized among themselves, the eloquoent spirit of "common course towards the empowerment of Yoruba race” at home and in the Diaspora. At this Historic meeting, chaired by Professor Adeniran Adeboye (President of Egbe Isokan Yoruba, Washington DC USA, and member of Egbe Omo Yoruba North America) the name, "EGBE OMO YORUBA EUROPE" (Umbrella Association of Yoruba Descendants in Europe) was unanimously adopted which therefore resolved in its formation.
AIM
The motto of the organization shall be “fun Ilosiwaju omo yoruba"”
PREAMBLE
We, the Yoruba, desiring to trust and enjoy the fellowship of one another, desiring to promote the interests and welfare of one another. Committed to and guided by deep sense of justice and honesty. Individually committed to excellence in performance, and convinced that we can build a stronger economic, political, and social community in Yorubaland, in Nigeria, and around the world, do pledge to promote the unity, progress, and empowerment of the Yoruba in Nigeria, and Diaspora for the peaceful coexistence based on justice. We hereby resolve to constitute into:"Egbe Omo Yoruba Europe" (Umbrella Association of Yoruba Descendants in Europe)
ADMINISTRATIVE HEADQUARTERS
The General Secretariat of the Egbe has been located and established in London, United Kingdom for ease of proximity and other logistical consideration.
EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Egbe is still in the formation stage, so there no complete list of nominated Executive Board. However, on 30 November 2003, a Steering Committee was constituted and mandated to put together all necessary formal protocol and Material Criteria to Establish and Launch the association.
INTERIM EXECUTIVE LEADERS
For a strong and dynamic administrative structure of the association, during the course of their consultations, the Steering Committee, unanimously voted and elected the following individuals to be in Protem Leadership Position pending the general election into various offices in the Executive Board:

• Ogbeni Abdulrazak AGBOOLA, general secretary
